About Cedarbrae Church
About us
The Salvation Army — Scarborough Corps
We are a diverse, faith-filled family rooted in the heart of Scarborough. Guided by the values of The Salvation Army, we believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, loved, and supported. So whether you're walking through our doors for the first time or the hundredth, you'll always find a warm welcome here.
From our food bank, Breakfast Club, and Christmas Campaign to our worship services and bible studies, everything we do flows from one simple conviction: that faith means nothing without action, and community means everything.
Our story
The Salvation Army has been serving communities across Canada for over a century, and our Scarborough corps carries that same spirit forward every single day. We are part of an international movement dedicated to sharing the love of God through practical service and compassionate care. But for us, it has always started here, in this neighborhood, with these neighbors.
Scarborough is a place of extraordinary wealth in its cultures, its people, and its resilience. We are proud to be a part of this community, and we are committed to reflecting its diversity in everything we do.
What we believe
Faith in action
At the core of everything we do is a simple conviction: faith means nothing without action. We draw our values from scripture and from The Salvation Army's mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Community means everything. We exist not to be served, but to serve and in doing so, we hope to reflect something greater than ourselves.”
This isn't just a philosophy we recite. It shapes how we run our programs, how we greet newcomers, and how we show up for people in their most difficult moments.

Our core values
How we serve
From emergency relief to spiritual formation, our programs are designed to meet people where they are. Everything flows from the same source: the belief that Christ like love expressed in action is the most powerful force for change in any community.

Volunteers are integral to everything we do. Giving your time helps build a better community and benefits you too. Volunteering is a meaningful way to reduce stress, make friends, connect with neighbors, learn new skills, and even advance your career.
